The Gr2A Consortium benefits from the University of Turku from both its experience in developing curricula that links industry with academia and from its experience in sustainable technologies. The University of Turku (UTU) is a multidisciplinary and internationally competitive university dedicated to high-level scientific research. UTU is recognised for the quality of its research and teaching, and for its excellent support services. As one of the leading universities in Finland, UTU offers study and research opportunities in eight faculties (Education, Humanities, Law, Medicine, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, and Turku School of Economics) and four independent units (UTU Centre for Language and Communication Studies, Finnish Centre for Astronomy with ESO, Turku Bioscience Centre, and Turku PET Centre).
This Gr2A project will engage industry and relevant project stakeholders at the onset of the project. At the curriculum review stage, relevant industries will be consulted for input. Stakeholders consulted should be representative of the various sectors that this project seeks to impact. It is at this stage that industry linkages will be formulated. Such linkages will help to provide internships for the scholarship of this project.
UTU staff are hosted at each participating institution at least once a year to facilitate knowledge transfer and project progress tracking. Where necessary, the host institution will invite the technical partner on demand. Three regional online end of year workshops are held by all participating institutions to track progress. This enables institutions to evaluate their individual
progress and the progress of the Consortium as a whole. These workshops include academic staff, internationalization office staff and staff members from budgetary. These workshops are also used to identify any problems and to find solutions, for the purposes of putting the project on track in case of any deviations, and to also encourage participation by all in cases of slackening by any institution.
