STEP 1: ELIGIBILITY CHECK
WHAT TARGET GROUP ARE YOU IN?
Target Group 1 are African nationals and/or residents who are enrolled in or have graduated from a higher education institution that is a part of the Gr2A consortium.
Target Group 2 is made up of African citizens and residents who are enrolled as students in higher education institutions outside of the partnership or who have earned an equivalent degree from one of these institutions, or who are African nationals and residents.
The language of instruction among the Gr2A Partner institutions is English. Applicants to the Gr2A Project are expected to attach an English proficiency certificate.
STEP 2 – FIELD OF STUDY
Is your area of interest available and eligible? Examine the Gr2A study areas and programs.
The Gr2A prospectus, which may be downloaded here, includes a comprehensive description of all the courses and programs that are offered at the participating universities.

Please take note that applications outside of the stated research and academic offer will not be funded by Gr2A scholarships.
STEP 3 – HOST INSTITUTION(S)
Verify which partner university has the research and study options you are interested in. It is mandatory for you to apply for admission through the internal application process of each host university. As a result, before submitting an application for a Gr2A scholarship, you must get in touch with your chosen host university.
The Gr2A prospectus includes a thorough list of all the programs that are offered.
NEVER APPLY WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING YOUR POTENTIAL SUPERVISOR, WHO IS LISTED ABOVE AS THE CONTACT PERSON FOR EACH PROJECT.
STEP 4 – READ THE GUIDELINES
Read our application instructions (Gr2A prospectus) before logging onto the application portal to ensure you submit a successful and eligible application. You can locate them in the “Downloads” section.
STEP 5 – DOCUMENTS
Depending on your degree of mobility, prepare the necessary paperwork.
ESSENTIAL DOCUMENTS
All paperwork needs to be submitted in English. It is important to carefully review each academic offer where this information is given, since each host university may demand additional obligatory documentation (such as a pre-acceptance letter or certain certificates). The downloadable template for some papers can be found in the section on the right called Downloads.
STEP 6 SELECTION PROCESS
Learn about the requirements and selection process as stated in the Gr2A prospectus.
Administrative Inspection.
Applications will go through an initial screening process whose objective is to verify the candidates’ official eligibility. Completeness: The candidate has uploaded all required documentation in their official Gr2A application form. Eligibility conditions: the candidate satisfies all eligibility requirements, including those related to nationality, previous Intra-African scholarships, and any additional general requirements that the partnership may specify.
Academic Qualifications & Eligibility.
This task will be overseen by the Gr2a Local Management Unit in coordination with the admission offices and academic supervisors at the host universities:
ELIGIBILITY: Verifying that the applicant satisfies all entrance requirements, including language requirements, for the program for which s/he has applied Actor: Admission office
QUALITY: Evaluating candidates’ academic backgrounds and assigning a numerical value to submissions based on the following standards: Actor: Academic Supervisors
APPEAL PROCEDURE
Candidates who failed the academic eligibility and quality assessment will get a “rejection notification” from the Gr2A general secretariat at the Central Management Unit within a week. During that period, they will have the opportunity to appeal the decision with a valid appeal.
STEP 7 – APPLICATION
If you have successfully carried out steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 you are ready to apply, enter the application form.
STEP 8 – WHAT’S NEXT IF YOU GET A GR2A SCHOLARSHIP?
SCHOLARSHIP ACCEPTANCE: You will receive an email with an offer letter, and you will need to respond with an acceptance letter indicating your decision to accept or reject the Gr2A scholarship by a specific date.
GET INFORMED: You will get pre-departure information from your host institution about the participating university, the town you will be living in, how to plan your mobility, and what documentation is required in accordance with the host country’s immigration laws before departing.
GET READY: You will plan the details of your stay, including housing, handling scholarships, attending classes, adjusting to university life, etc., with the assistance of your potential host university.
ENJOY YOUR MOBILITY: You will journey to your host nation and academic institution. You’ll need to participate in academic events and do well.
